The Logic Connect fleet management platform now supports the monitoring of non-powered assets. Now integrated with the Digital Matter Oyster3 device, a low power GPS tracker capble of providing up to 10 years battery life (when using recommended AA batteries). Attaching the device to assets provides visibility of their current location, while the in-built accelerometer detects movement over a set threshold, alerting you that your asset is on the move.

The device configuration includes the following parameters

• GPS updates sent every 6hrs (heartbeat) - non-movement
• GPS update on trip start >250m
• In trip GPS update every 10 mins
• GPS update on trip end

Different configurations can be set dependent on customer preference, including frequency of GPS updates based on time or movement. Please note that increased frequency of GPS updates will have an impact on battery life.

Batteries

The Oyster3 uses x3 AA batteries. We recommend high performance Lithium Thionyl Chloride (LTC) batteries which, based on default configuration, will provide an estimated life of 6.5 - 10 years life. These can be supplied and fitted by Logic Wireless.

Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries can also be used, however estimated battery life is approximately 4 - 7 years.
